Laurence Buxton was born in Worcester, England
in July 1974, and lives currently in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Growing
up, his interests were always artistic and creative, but it was
upon moving to Stratford in 2000 that he began to look seriously
into the prospect of becoming a successful author.
In the late Summer of 2004, when toying with
the idea of being a writer, he became a member of the Bird Of Prey
Theatre Company, which had performed a large number of theatrical
productions ranging from historical to musical. The subsequent experiences
of his involvement in one such event – both comic and dramatic
- have been recounted in a diary, named “Christmas With Cromwell”.
The play was written and directed by the founder of the group, Steve
Newman.
And on top of that, he has written a thriller/adventure,
the first in a planned series, called, “The Idol”, which
sees a young girl from North Wales – Danielle Thomas - inadvertently
stumble across a village with a dark legacy, and the life-threatening
consequences of her becoming involved in it. This is something Laurence
is determined to make into a series, and “The Idol”
will see only the first in a series of adventures starring the vulnerable
but ultimately brave Dani.
Furthermore, he has contributed to a number of
online magazines, including “Keep It Coming”, and his
article on David Bowie, “Cracked Actor”, was initially
released on the Vancouver-based “The Boards” ( published
and edited by Ian Alexander Martin ).
Laurence’s interests include the theatre,
cinema, public houses, eating out and socialising.
